From a rocket scientist's perspective regarding windows, you should know two simple facts:

"The Hubble Space Telescope was just a little more complicated than window design." Hello! My name is Sid Knoch. NOVA SPECTRUM is the name of the window company I started in 1992. The name originally applied to myself as an engineering consultant under contract to NASA. When I started this business as window dealer and designer, I kept the name. There are some similarities. As an aerospace engineer, I'm concerned with designs,dimensions, orientations, and protecting satellites from the hostile extremes of outer space. As a "window engineer", I'm concerned with designs, dimensions, orientations, and maximizing natural daylight and thermal efficiency in that important, although more benign environment of the home.
Although I still work in aerospace for Lockheed Martin, I hope you will find NOVA SPECTRUM a value resource for windows and doors.
